Whats really helped me and my friends with the Flu is NAC. It not only helps with symptoms of the flu but boost your immune system so you can fight more effectively and recover quicker. I use it for prevention and treatment.
When you travel, a lot like us. Exposed to a lot a sick people specially in the winter. People coughing on the plane. People sick in offices. What is one to do to stay health in the winter?
Previously, I would get sick every winter if a person coughed near me. I would eat vitamin C, use Purell sanitizer. Well the thing is most sanitizer don’t kill viruses which cause the cold or flu. So really, it’s just a waste of time.

This wonder supplement just strengthens the immune system against cold and flu virus. I take one a day to prevent colds and flu. I really like the NOW NAC brand, just personal preference. If someone is sick near me; I’ll take 3 a day. Obviously speak to a doctor before taking any supplements. Here are the details below if you’re a science geek like me:
Eating a Clean Diet
I am pretty much cooking at home eating either broccoli or asparagus. I stay away from sweets in the winter time. I eat a lot of yogurt. I stay away from bread or wheat. If I am feeling out of the weather, I’ll make some chicken soup in the pressure cooker (it takes 1 hr.). Pressure cooking is just an amazing time saver.
Working out and Getting Sleep
I’ll try to go to the gym and workout. If I am feeling tired or beat I don’t push it. Listen to your body if you’re tired and don’t feel well get some rest and take some NAC.
I’ll take about 5000 IU every other day. But clear this with your doctor. I find it helps. But it’s no super supplement like NAC. This is a wonderful vitamin; you can get your levels tested for it now. Again, see your doctor before taking any supplements.
I think there a lot of misinformation out there on how to fight the cold and flu. I should know cause i have tried everything! This is the latest research. Anything on PubMed is usually 5-10 years ahead of current medicine. NAC has been working for me. I have given it to friends to see if its helped. They seem to love it.
